Elizabeth Lowell Auchincloss, MD

Dr. Auchincloss is a graduate of Yale College. She received her M.D. from the Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons, and trained in Psychiatry at the Payne Whitney Clinic of the New York Hospital where she was Chief Resident in 1982. She received her certificate in psychoanalysis from the Columbia University Center for Psychoanalytic Training and Research in 1986. Between 1993-2001, she was an Adjunct Lecturer in the Department of English and Comparative Literature in Columbia University. From 1991-1997, she served as chairman of the curriculum committee of the Columbia Psychoanalytic Center. She has also served as Chairman of the Committee on Graduate Medical Education at New York Presbyterian Hospital--Weill Cornell Medicine and on the Committee for Psychotherapy Competencies of the American Association of Directors of Psychiatric Residency Training. She currently represents the American Psychiatric Association on the Residency Review Committee for Psychiatry of the ACGME.
