Overview

Dr. Holly A. Schneier has been integrally involved with clinical work, education and adminiatration at Columbia University Medical Center since she graduated from the Columbia Residency program in 1989. For five years, she served as director of the Comprehensive Psychiatric Emergency Program. During this time, Dr. Schneier was awarded Teacher of the Year by the Graduating Resident Class. Subsequently she was Medical Director of Quality Assurance for the NewYork-Presbyterian/Columbia Department of Psychiatry. Currently in her position as Associate Director of the NewYork-Presbyterian/Columbia Department of Psychiatry, Dr. Schneier assists in the oversight of all services in the Department for adult psychiatry.

In addition, Dr. Schneier is a training analyst at the Columbia Center for Psychoanalytic Center for Psychoanalytic Training and Research. She is also the chair of the Progression Committee at the Center. This committee is responsible for tracking the advancement of candidates during their training. Further, Dr. Schneier is the course chair of both the Psychopathology course and the Assessment course.
